Tai Chi for Liberation by Bill Smith and John P. Milton
In China during the early 1990’s octogenarian Dr. Zhu Hui began teaching a form of Tai Chi previously known only to monks in remote mountain temples. His Master, Li Tong, a 105 year-old Taoist priest, instructed Dr. Zhu to bring this once-secret form for deep spiritual cultivation out to the world.

This unique form, which is more like a Feng Shui ceremony than traditional Tai Chi Chuan, has the ability to energetically clear the space in which it is performed. The 11 directions of the medicine wheel are gracefully honored as one flows through the form, opening a moving natural mandala that integrates body, energy and mind. Inner and outer Nature are unified in a co-creative dance.

Regular practice of this form provides grounding, relaxation, increased vitality and the opening of clear spacious awareness. It is also said to “speed up” the processing of one’s karmic blockages, thus clearing the way for natural wisdom to arise. It also has gained a reputation in China for helping maintain vigorous health by keeping the energy channels unblocked and circulating balanced, harmonious Qi.

One of the great features of this form is that the pattern is easy to learn;
the two sections of the form can be taught in a single weekend.

The first section is called the Earth Form. In this form you will learn to distinguish the yin and yang energies in your body. The five elemental energies are gathered from the four cardinal directions. A clear connection to Mother Earth is established. Stagnant energy is cleared from the channels and meridians as a support to healthy organ and bio-energy function.

In the second section, the Heaven Form, you gather universal energies from cosmic sources such as the stars, galaxies and planets. Then you begin to cultivate a cosmic link with the space element; ultimately this leads you to the recognition of pure, primordial awareness as your true nature, in the flow.
One of the great features of this form is that the pattern is easy to learn; the two sections of the form can be taught in a single weekend.
